Boston Scientific launches spinal cord stimulators in Europe

Medical device company Boston Scientific on Sept. 30 launched its WaveWriter Alpha portfolio of spinal cord stimulator systems in Europe.

The device features four MRI implantable pulse generators that enable personalized treatment based on the patient’s needs. It offers access to waveforms that cover several areas of chronic pain.

WaveWriter Alpha SCS layer paraesthesia and paraesthesia-free options simultaneously to target nerves along the spinal cord.

A Bluetooth feature allows for faster programming at a distance of up to 10 feet between the programmer and patient.

WaveWriter Alpha SCS have not been cleared for use or sale in the U.S. yet.
