Three things to know:

1. Dr. Erickson repaired a stress fracture in the spine of 19-year-old Katie Kingston, who had been experiencing back pain for seven years.

2. Using Medtronic’s Mazor X robotic technology, Dr. Erickson successfully implanted two rods and four screws in her back.

3. Children’s Hospital Colorado is one of only three U.S. pediatric hospitals in the country using the Mazor X system.

“It’s a new frontier that’s super exciting,” Dr. Erickson said. “With the robot, we’re able to do the surgeries that we’ve done for a long time, but now we’re able to do them with more precision, accuracy and safety.”
