MGH repurposed its neurosurgery rooms into ICU spaces to deal with the influx of patients who have become infected by COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus.
Last September, Dr. Rolle was part of a 10-person team from the hospital that provided support to people impacted by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.
He graduated with his medical degree from Tallahassee-based Florida University College of Medicine in 2017, where he previously played as a safety for the university’s football team, the Florida State Seminoles.
Dr. Rolle was inspired to study neurosurgery after witnessing repetitive concussions firsthand during his football career with the Seminoles and the Tennessee Titans in the NFL.
