The program is in response to the Trump Administration’s March 13 declaration to expand Medicare coverage for telemedicine.
Remote access to NSPC-affiliated pain management physicians will be available in 10 states, including New York, New Jersey, Illinois and Florida.
The plan aims to provide an “essential service to those suffering with chronic pain” and ensure “these patients don’t end up in overburdened emergency rooms, where the risk of contracting coronavirus will surely be higher,” according to Douglas Wisor, MD, CEO of NSPC.
