Neurosurgeon is 1st person to die of COVID-19 in Paraguay

Neurosurgeon Dr. Hugo Diez Perez became the first person to die of COVID-19 in Paraguay, according to a report from Extra.

Dr. Perez, 69, was being treated in intensive care for the past week before he died March 20.

For 22 years he practiced at Baptist Medical Center in Paraguay.

He also founded the Paraguay Neurosurgery Society.
