Mount Sinai adds Dr. Dolores Hambardzumyan to department of neurosurgery, cancer institute

Dolores Hambardzumyan, PhD, was recently appointed to the department of neurosurgery and The Tisch Cancer Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

Three things to know:

1. Dr. Hambardzumyan is a brain cancer specialist who served as assistant professor of pediatrics at Emory University in Atlanta, according to her LinkedIn profile.

2. Her research focuses on new treatments for glioblastoma as well as the link between cancer cells and immune cells within brain tumors.

3. Dr. Hambardzumyan’s contributions to the field include 67 peer-reviewed articles and a chapter in the textbook “Neuroglia,” third edition.
