American College of Sports Medicine taps new CEO

Kristin Belleson will serve as the new CEO of the American College of Sports Medicine, effective Feb. 3.

1. Ms. Belleson was the top choice of the organization’s search committee.

2. She comes to ACSM after a tenure as the interim COO at the American Osteopathic Association. She has also worked with the American Dental Association, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and Foundation for Women’s Cancer, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

3. Ms. Belleson has more than 20 years of experience in association and nonprofit management.

Ms. Belleson said, “I have a deep love and passion for athletics and sports, which has helped me to understand the importance of not only health and fitness but also the importance of teams and collaboration.”
