Dr. Gregory Zipfel becomes professor of neurological surgery at Washington University

St. Louis-based Washington University School of Medicine recently named Gregory Zipfel, MD, the Ralph G. Dacey Distinguished Professor of Neurological Surgery, according to the university’s website.

Dr. Zipfel is also head of the department of neurosurgery at the university and neurosurgeon-in-chief at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He specializes in cerebrovascular disease and tumors near the base of the skull.

Dr. Zipfel succeeds Ralph Dacey, MD, who was head of the department of neurosurgery for three decades.
