Vietnam veteran, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jerry Sisler dies

Orthopedic surgeon Jerry Sisler, MD, died at his home aged 85 on Oct. 10, reports Tulsa World.

Dr. Sisler graduated from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. 

He completed a surgical internship and the first year of his orthopedic residency at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, before finishing his training at the University of Oklahoma Hospitals in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Sisler established his practice in Tula, Okla., in 1963, before he was called to military service. He served as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps, stationed at the 67th Evacuation Hospital in Qui Nhon, Vietnam, and received a Bronze Star for meritorious service.
