Joshua Jacobs, MD, was elected as vice president of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for a one-year term.

1. Dr. Jacobs is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction and replacement.

2. He is the chairperson of the department of orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

3. Dr. Jacobs was elected to the ABOS Board in 2016 and previously served as president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Research Society and the United States Bone and Joint Decade.
