Emily Thomas, a junior biomedical engineering major, is one of 52 students from 28 U.S. universities to receive the $10,000 scholarship.
Ms. Thomas was assisting in research at the OU Translational Regenerative Medicine Laboratory.
Since the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1984, it has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships to talented students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
