Miami Heat opens new sports medicine facility — 3 things to know

The Miami Heat opened a new sports medicine facility on the campus of Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables, Fla., reports WSVN.

Three things to know:

1. It is the first time an NBA franchise has purchased the rights to a medical center.

2. The Miami Heat Sports Medicine Center features an OR, three physician clinics and 42 exam rooms.

3. A network of HD cameras were installed in the OR, allowing surgeons to visualize procedures off-site and assist with physician training.
