Steadman Philippon Research Institute CEO Mike Egan Dies

The president and CEO of the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colo., Mike Egan, died on June 18 in a biking accident in Norway, according to a Vail Daily report.

Prior to his role at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, Mr. Egan ran medical device companies and capital venture firms. The Steadman Philippon Research Institute, founded by Richard Steadman, MD, is associated with The Steadman Clinic, also in Vail.

“We are resolved and committed to honoring Mike’s memory and fulfilling his legacy by continuing his vision for the Institute and by implementing the programs and plans that he had previously outlined to us,” said Marc Philippon, MD, in the report.
