Mr. Deters had his license suspended six years ago and is now retired. Deters Law Office is representing patients and individuals who filed suit against Dr. Durrani, alleging the surgeon performed unnecessary procedures. He is also accused of committing insurance fraud by using PureGen outside of its approved clinical use. Dr. Durrani had ownership in PureGen. Dr. Durrani fled to Pakistan amid the allegations.

The judge placed a gag order on Mr. Deters in April, but Mr. Deters proceeded to make Facebook posts about Dr. Durrani’s case. He was also present at a protest that Dr. Durrani’s former patients staged outside of the courthouse, according to a separate article in The Enquirer, aiming to convince the judge to move the case along faster. The judge contended Mr. Deters violated the gag order, and his social media posts have since been removed.

Mr. Deters spent eight days in the Hamilton County jail.
