West Virginia hospital opens 2 ORs, unveils new surgical robot

Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital opened two new operating rooms, with one housing a da Vinci Xi surgical robot, reports Times Leader Online.

Three things to know:

1. The OR featuring the da Vinci Xi robot will perform neurosurgery, orthopedic and robotic surgery among other procedures.

2. Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci Xi features robotic arms, surgical instruments and an endoscopic camera. It offers 3D high-definition views of the surgical area.

3. The second OR — the Cardiovascular Advanced Procedure Suite — will provide radiology, cardiology and surgery services and features interventional imaging technology.
