$48M facility to expand spine, orthopedic services for Tennessee health system

Nashville, Tenn.-based Ascension Saint Thomas will build a $48 million facility, which will replace the 24-bed acute rehab unit at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, reports Nashville Business Journal.

Four things to know:

1. The 98,237-square-foot center aims to expand spine, orthopedic and neuroscience services.

2. It will feature 40 private rooms and a traumatic brain injury wing.

3. The facility is a joint venture between Nashville, Tenn.-based Saint Thomas Health — who will have 51 percent ownership — and Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare.

4. Construction is set to begin in September 2020 with a 2022 completion date.
