Life Spine begins clinical study for podiatric device — 3 things to know

Life Spine’s foot and ankle division — Centric Medical — launched a clinical study of its Tarsa-Link stand-alone wedge fixation system.

Three things to know:

1. Tarsa-Link is available in a variety of footprints including PEEK and titanium versions and is used to correct flat-footed deformities.

2. Christopher Nicholas, DPM, of Norfolk (Va.) Foot and Ankle is the lead researcher in the study.

3. The device reduces site irritation because it lies flush with the osteotomy site, without any supplemental fixation.
