Montana hospital opens, collaborates on pediatric orthopedic initiative

Kalispell (Mont.) Regional Healthcare opened Montana Children’s and is collaborating with Spokane, Wash.-based Shriners Hospitals for Children to mitigate travel between the two towns, reports Flathead Beacon.

Four things to know:

1. Kalispell-based Northwest Orthopedics & Sports Medicine will house the new pediatric orthopedic clinic.

2. Montana Children’s has over 50 pediatric specialists on the medical staff.

3. Orthopedic surgeons and nurses from Shriners Hospitals for Children will travel from Spokane to the Kalispell clinic every month.

4. Montana Children’s features a 12-bed pediatric unit, six-bed pediatric ICU, a 12-bed neonatal ICU and six beds for future growth.
