Four details:
1. Dr. Getelman previously served as secretary of the board of directors for the AANA and is currently beginning his role as second vice president of the organization.
2. He is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, specializing in arthroscopic and minimally invasive reconstructive shoulder and knee surgery, as well as sports medicine.
3. Dr. Getelman will begin his term as president at the annual meeting in April 2021 and will serve until April 2022.
4. He is the co-director of the SCOI Sports Medicine Fellowship Program and has assisted in the training of over 50 orthopedic fellows.
Dr. Getelman earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Fla., and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Boston University Medical Center.
