Dr. Brian Cole Conducts PRP Trial Including Former Olympian Bob Berland

Brian Cole, MD, a sports medicine specialist at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, recently discussed his use of platelet-rich plasma injections for Olympic athlete Bob Berland in an NBC Chicago report, according to an MOR news release.

Mr. Berland, who won a silver medal in the 1984 Olympics, underwent three injections, either PRP or a placebo, for a clinical trial conducted by Dr. Cole. He isn’t sure which injection he was given, but he reports returning to a level of athletic activity he wasn’t able to achieve before.
