Mercyhealth adding $5M orthopedic center to Illinois hospital — 4 insights

Janesville, Wis.-based Mercyhealth is adding a $5 million orthopedic center to Rockford (Ill.) Memorial Hospital, the RRStar reports.

1. The orthopedic center is part of a $50 million, 10-year capital expansion project.

2. The orthopedic center will be a 22-room facility featuring imaging technology, two cast rooms and a waiting area.

3. In addition to the new center, Mercyhealth added several orthopedic surgeons and a pediatric orthopedic surgeon to its staff.

4. In addition to the orthopedic center, Mercyhealth is spending $1 million to upgrade its existing cancer center.
