Sports medicine surgeon establishes scholarship at Marshall University: 4 details

Larry W. Watson, MD, and his wife Bridget Watson, started an endowed scholarship fund for future medical students at Huntington, W.Va.-based Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University, according to Huntington News.

1. The Watson Family Scholarship is designated for first-year medical students.

2. Dr. Watson is a past president of Marshall University’s School of Medicine Alumni Association.

3. A board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Watson specializes in sports injuries as well as arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee.

4. Dr. Watson serves as team orthopedic surgeon for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
