Los Angeles-based Orthopaedic Institute for Children entered into a partnership with athletic training services provider Gameday Athletic Trainers as the organization’s sole medical director.

1. Under the agreement, OIC will provide general sports medicine services and serve as Gameday’s medical director for the organization’s greater Los Angeles-based programs.

2. OIC will also contribute physician referrals, make return-to-play decisions and offer education to athletes, parents and coaches on sports medicine-related issues such as injury prevention.

3. Gameday provides athletic training services and works with club programs, tournaments and high schools on-site during competitions, events and practices.

4. OIC focuses on musculoskeletal conditions in children, and the hospital has more than 70,000 patient visits annually.
