Here are four things to know:
1. Operation Walk USA is a nonprofit organization that arranges free surgeries for people who cannot afford certain procedures.
2. Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute at AtlantiCare orthopedic surgeons Fabio Orozco, MD, and Zachary Post, MD, performed the surgeries Dec. 5.
3. “We do several [replacements] every day,” Dr. Post told The Press of Atlantic City. “And everything has to be donated for this. We’re just happy to help and be able to do this for them.”
4. A third surgery at AtlantiCare through Operation Walk USA is scheduled for later this month.
