Dr. Parviz Kambin Recognized as Pioneer of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Parviz Kambin, MD, was recently recognized by the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and German-based medical device company joimax for his work in forwarding minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery, according to a news release.

The award, named for Dr. Kambin, was presented to him as well as Michael Schubert, MD, of Germany and Menno Iprenburg, MD, of the Netherlands at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons annual meeting. Dr. Kambin has been credited with discovering the safe access point to the spinal canal, known as the “Kambin Triangle.”
