Researchers examined 868 knees that underwent ACL reconstruction, and found that 144 knees were diagnosed as having a ramp lesion. All patients received arthroscopic surgery for ACL reconstruction.

The average age of the patients was 24.7 years, and patients younger than 30 years of age had a significantly higher prevalence of ramp lesions. There was also a higher prevalence of ramp lesions among the male participants.
