Specializing in traumatic, acute and chronic shoulder and elbow injuries, Dr. Kumar is involved with outcome-based studies and clinical research. He also has experience performing reverse total shoulder replacements.
In 2017, Dr. Kumar secured a U.S. patent for an anatomic humeral fracture plate, an implant designed to provide better fixation for different fracture patterns.
Vitals.com recognized Dr. Kumar as a top orthopedic surgeon. He serves as a Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery reviewer.
After receiving his medical degree from Atlanta-based Emory University, Dr. Kumar completed a residency at the Boston-based Tufts University New England Medical Center. He continued post-graduate training with a fellowship at Tampa-based Florida Orthopaedic Institute.
