The State of Spine Surgery Think Tank to cover key clinical, business issues

The State of Spine Surgery Think Tank featuring spine surgeons and industry members from across the U.S. will take place June 21 to June 23 in Palm Beach, Aruba. BroadWater hosts the event.

Frank Phillips, MD, director of the spine surgery division at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, is course chairman along with co-chairs Todd Albert, MD, surgeon in chief and CMO of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery and Alexander Vaccaro, MD, president of Philadelphia-based Rothman Institute. Hyun Bae, MD, medical director of spine education at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and Greg Mundis, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon at La Jolla, Calif.-based Scripps are program directors for the event.

The meeting includes sessions on navigation and robotics, the evolution of back pain treatment and the business of spine care. Surgeons will also speak on spinal deformity, tumors and trauma as well as cervical disorders and regenerative medicine.

Healthcare Partner at McGuireWoods and Publisher of Becker’s Hospital Review Scott Becker, JD, will moderate a panel on ASCs covering current business and payer issues and address the question, “Can you survive as a single-specialty spine surgery center?”
