Here are three things to know.
1. Ms. Miller came to the ER for “excruciating neck pain” and weakness in her arm, Dr. Melamed told People. Her condition deteriorated and she was completely paralyzed from the neck down.
2. Dr. Melamed found an infection had spread from the bottom of her neck to her lower back. The reality television star’s blood pressure began to drop to dangerous levels, and she underwent multi-level laminectomy to relieve pressure on her spinal cord.
3. Ms. Miller regained some sensation after the procedure. If she does not require another surgery, she could be discharged from the hospital into rehabilitation by the end of the week.
