Neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Burstein receives lifetime achievement award — 6 highlights

Marquis Who’s Who honored Stephen D. Burstein, MD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, according to The Daily Telescope.

1. Marquis Who’s Who considers position, accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field when selecting honorees.

 

2. A neurosurgeon, Dr. Burstein specializes in brain and spine. He also has an interest in independent insurance examinations and second opinions.

 

3. Dr. Burstein serves as a senior partner and attending physician at Nassau County, N.Y.-based Neurological Surgery, P.C.

 

4. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and past president of the New York State Neurosurgical Society.

 

5. Dr. Burstein was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps in the U.S. and served overseas as a battalion surgeon in the third and fifth Marine divisions.

 

6. He completed his neurological surgery fellowship at Rochester-based Mayo Clinic Foundation.
