Unlike earlier models of the da Vinci, the XI has increased mobility that essentially eliminates the need to move the patient during surgery. The XI also has a magnified vision system in which a small camera sends 3-D high-definition images to a video monitor in the operating room to guide physicians during procedures.
The hospital recently renovated a surgical suite specifically for robotics.
