Steelers’ linebacker Ryan Shazier visits University of Cincinnati Medical Center over spine injury: 4 things to know

University of Cincinnati Medical Center physicians continue to monitor Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier’s spine injury, according to ESPN.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. University of Cincinnati Health and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center said in a joint statement that Mr. Shazier has undergone various tests to evaluate his injury.

 

2. It is unclear when Mr. Shazier will be released from UC Medical Center. In the interim, neurosurgeons at the center continue to monitor the linebacker.

 

3. Following the clearance from UC Medical Center physicians, Mr. Shazier will be transferred to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

 

4. While Mr. Shazier was removed Sunday’s game strapped to a board, his injury is anticipated to be less severe than initially thought.
