SouthCoast Health unveils new St. Luke’s Hospital Brain and Spine Center — 5 highlights

New Bedford, Mass.-based SouthCoast Health opened the Brain and Spine Center at St. Luke’s Hospital, also in New Bedford, according to SouthCoast Today.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. SouthCoast Health neurosurgeon Matthew Philips, MD, commented St. Luke’s is fast becoming “the hub” in the area for brain and spine inpatient care.

 

2. The Brain and Spine Center offers neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology, pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical therapy and chiropractic services.

 

3. With the new center, SouthCoast Health hopes to provide care for all central and peripheral nervous system diseases.

 

4. The Brain and Spine Center holds 12 beds.

 

5. SouthCoast Health already had four outpatient brain and spine centers around the state.
