Kansas Orthopedic Surgeon Leaves Practice He Formed, Returns to Advanced Orthopaedic Associates

John Schurman II, MD, recently rejoined Advanced Orthopaedic Associates in Wichita, Kan., after leaving the practice in 2002 to form Kansas Joint & Spine Institute, according to a report from The Wichita Eagle.

Dr. Schurman served as president of Kansas Joint & Spine Institute. He will become a partner with Advanced Orthopaedic Associates, a 14 physician practice that is currently in the process of opening a 3,000-square-foot office at Via Christi Hospital in St. Teresa.

Dr. Schurman earned his medical degree from Wayne State University and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital, both in Detroit. His additional training includes studying adult reconstructive surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston and at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
