Dr. McKenzie was recognized for his work in the 2010 season, when the Packers had 15 players on the injured reserve list — the longest in the league that year.

Bryan Engel, Packers assistant athletic trainer, nominated Dr. McKenzie and head athletic trainer Pepper Burruss wrote a letter of support. The Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society presented the award, given annually since 1998.

Dr. McKenzie has been team physician of the Packers since the early 1990s. He practices at Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Specialists in Green Bay, Wis.
