Here are four insights:
1. The Ochsner Clinic Foundation acquired the land for $7 million. In addition to the clinic, the foundation will spend $7.7 million on infrastructure improvements.
2. The five story clinic will include a 10-bed inpatient unit and surgical center that will perform general, ENT, orthopedic, gynecology and urology surgeries.
3. By 2021, the medical clinic plans to employ 450 people.
4. Ochsner already has 13 clinics in the local area. This clinic continues its efforts to expand into the Baton Rouge area.
