Touring Physicians Call for Single-Payor Health Reform

Seven physicians from Oregon have been touring the country to call for more dramatic healthcare reforms than Congress is considering, according to a report from the Mankato, Minn., Free Press.

While Congress appears to be stepping back from a public option, the Oregon doctors — MadAsHellDoctors.com — are campaigning for a single-payor system, saying it would reduce administrative expenses by 20 percent.

“We’re spending twice as much per capita than the second most costly system in the world and getting half the [medical] outcomes,” Bob Seward, MD, said in a stop in Mankato.
