1. Mr. Syndergaard felt right shoulder and bicep discomfort early last week.
2. He declined a recommended MRI on Friday, April 28.
3. Mr. Syndergaard left his next start on Sun., April 30 in the bottom of the second inning after grabbing his right side.
4. An MRI taken Mon., May 1 revealed a partially torn lat muscle.
5. The New York Post reported Mr. Syndergaard’s injury will sideline him for at least three months.
6. The 24-year old pitcher is scheduled to see Dr. ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Thurs., May 4.
After placing Mr. Syndergaard on the 10-day disabled list on Monday, Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson said, “This won’t be measured in days, it will be measured in weeks,” adding that the star pitcher will be out for “a considerable time.”
