Dr. Mark Froimson takes helm of American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons — 8 highlights

Mark I. Froimson, MD, stepped into the role of American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons’ president.

Here are eight highlights:

 

1. Dr. Forimson took office as the 27th association president on March 15, 2017.

 

2. He previously served as the AAHKS health policy council and committee chair.

 

3. He serves as executive vice president and chief clinical officer of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health.

 

4. Journal of Arthroplasty, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine and American Journal of Orthopedics have published his work.

 

5. Earlier in his career, Dr. Forimson was president and CEO of Euclid (Ohio) Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic hospital.

 

6. He also served as a Cleveland Clinic orthopedic staff surgeon for more than 16 years.

 

7. Dr. Forimson earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his general surgical and orthopedic residency at University of California, Los Angeles and Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.

 

8. He completed his adult reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University Hospitals of Cleveland.
