Here are five things to know:
1. Medacta pledged to match resident gifts two-to-one, increasing from its previous commitment of one-to-one. The program encourages residents to engage in charitable giving early on in their careers and prioritizes OREF in their philanthropy.
2. The Medacta Challenge has raised over $150,000 for OREF since it began in 2015. Medacta Executive Vice President Francesco Siccardi and Eric Dremel, president of Medacta USA were named to OREF’s Visionary Research Society after each contributed $20,000 to OREF’s Research Fund.
3. Mr. Siccardi said, “We believe the next big innovation is always just around the corner and are excited that our expanded partnership with OREF will make already generous resident contributions even more impactful…This partnership drives Medacta and OREF’s shared goal of providing the best possible care to improve the lives of patients around the globe.”
4. Funding may be used to support orthopedic trauma, total joint arthroplasty and soft tissue repair and regeneration research.
5. Medacta has prioritized orthopedic research and training since its founding in 1999, promoting surgeon education and providing physicians with the tools they need to succeed since.
