Here are six highlights:

1. A far cry from disjointed spine care of the past, where patients would have to visit various physicians located at different locations, the center offers all patients all the care they need in one place.

2. Since spine care involves everything from surgery to rehabilitation, the Center for Comprehensive Spine Care envisioned a centralized, multidisciplinary approach.

3. Roger Härtl, MD, heads the center, with the help of Bridget Carey, MD, Neel Mehta, MD, and Jaspal Ricky Singh, MD.

4. The center’s 15 physicians collaborate to treat patients with back, neck, hand and joint pain, as well as arthritis, spinal stenosis, sciatica, rotator cuff injuries, disc injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome, to name some.

5. The physicians’ expertise ranges from pain management to spinal surgery to rehabilitation.

6. Although customized treatment plans are designed to avoid surgery, if the need arises, surgeons will perform lateral access surgery. The center’s surgeries are minimally invasive and occur at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
