MidHudson Regional adds Dr. Mark Watts to neurosurgery team: 5 highlights

Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based MidHudson Regional Hospital welcomed Mark C. Watts, MD, according to Hudson Valley News Network.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Dr. Watts joined the hospital’s neurosciences team.

 

2. Specializing in the brain and spine conditions, Dr. Watts is especially interested in treating neurological disease in the elderly, brain tumors, hydrocephalus and cervical spine issues.

 

3. The board-certified neurosurgeon previously worked at Denver-based Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital, serving as chief of surgical services and medical director of perioperative services.

 

4. During his time in Colorado, Dr. Watts served as president of the state’s medical board from 2011 to 2015.

 

5. Before moving to Colorado, Dr. Watts was chief of pediatric neurosurgery and director of geriatric neurosurgery at Detroit-based Henry Ford Hospital.
