Here are four spine surgeons and neurosurgeons in the news this past week.

The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs approved Ben Carson, MD, for the position of Department of Housing and Urban Development secretary.

 

On Jan. 10, 2017, neurosurgeon Aria Sabit, MD, received a 235-month prison sentence for fraud. He had been behind bars since his arrest on Nov. 24, 2014.

 

The Leading Physicians of the World will highlight Patrick B. Senatus, MD, PhD, in its upcoming edition, following his induction into the International Association of HealthCare Professionals.

 

Leslie K. Shokes, MD, will be included the upcoming publication of The Leading Physicians of the World, a subsidiary of the International Association of Healthcare Professionals.
