Chicago Tightens Return-to-Play Rules For Youth Athletes After Concussions

The Chicago City Council recently tightened the rules for returning to play after students receive concussions during athletic activities, according to a report from The Herald News.

The new rules state that students who show symptoms of a concussion need to receive permission from a physician or certified athletic trainer before returning to practice or play. Any official, coach or trainer is able to remove a player from play if a concussion is suspected.
