During his career, Dr. Battista has provided care from members of the House of Representatives, Senate and military leadership. He has also treated casualties of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His current practice focuses on hand, finger, wrist and upper extremities conditions.

“I have a particular interest in carpal tunnel syndrome and fractures of the wrist,” said Dr. Battista in a practice report. “My favorite advice to patients is ‘if it hurts, don’t do it.’ The vast majority of orthopedic conditions will likely go away with time. Unfortunately, some do not—that’s when my role increases.”

In addition to his practice, Dr. Battista is an assistant professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and clinical professor of orthopedics and rehabilitation at Penn State College of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Battista earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. His additional training includes a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
