University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics joins InVivo Therapeutics’ INSPIRE Study: 5 highlights

Cambridge, Mass.-based InVivo Therapeutics added University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City as an INSPIRE study clinical site.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. A 732-bed hospital, UI Hospitals and Clinics reported more than 57,000 emergency room visits in fiscal year 2015.

 

2. Patrick Hitchon, MD, a professor in the neurosurgery and biomedical engineering departments, will serve as the principal investigator at the study site.

 

3. Saul Wilson, MD, and Chandan Reddy, MD, will serve as co-investigators for the trial.

 

4. With the addition of this site, the INSPIRE study includes 27 clinical sites.

 

5. The INSPIRE study tests the Neuro-Spinal Scaffold’s efficacy and safety for complete thoracic AIS A spinal cord injury.
