Dr. Joel Boyd performs arthroscopic knee surgery on Minnesota Wild center Zac Dalpe: 4 things to know

Joel Boyd, MD, performed arthroscopic surgery on the right knee of Minnesota Wild center Zac Dalpe, News8000.com reports.

Here’s what you should know.

 

1. Mr. Dalpe is expected to miss the next four to six weeks. He suffered a lateral meniscus tear in Minnesota’s win on Oct. 29, 2016.

 

2. Dr. Boyd practices out of the Bloomington, Minn.-based TRIA Orthopaedic Center.

 

3. He is a renowned orthopedic surgeon. He is the head team physician for the Wild and a former head team physician for the Minnesota Vikings. He was a team physician for several countries in the 1998 USA Hockey World Championships.

 

4. Dr. Boyd is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
