The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery Editorial Board Trustees partnered with Wolters Kluwer to create the open access journal JBJS Open Access.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. JBJS Open Access is the sixth journal under the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Inc., and is an international, peer-reviewed, online-only publication.

 

2. All articles in the journal will be available for anyone around the world to access free of charge.

 

3. The articles on JBJS Open Access will undergo the same peer review process as JBJS and accept contributions from anywhere in the world.

 

4. The authors and reviewers for the articles will have access to “an enhanced and streamlined electronic manuscript submission, review and tracking process.”

 

5. The articles will focus on issues affecting musculoskeletal disease and injury care worldwide.
