Oscar Insurance names neurosurgeon Dr. Shaden Marzouk new chief medical officer: 5 observations

New York City-based Oscar Insurance appointed Shaden Marzouk, MD, MBA, its new CMO, according to Bloomberg.

1. Dr. Marzouk is a neurosurgeon and U.S. Army veteran.

 

2. Before taking this position, Dr. Marzouk served as senior vice president of clinical operations at Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal Health.

 

3. In her new role, Dr. Marzouk will spearhead Oscar’s goal of enhancing its members’ care.

 

4. She replaces Aran Ron as Oscar’s CMO.

 

5. Dr. Marzouk completed her spine surgery fellowship at Chicago-based Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
