Globus Medical Acquires Total Facet Arthoplasty Device Company

Globus Medical, an Audubon, Pa.-based spinal implants manufacturer, has acquired Facet Solutions, a Hopkinton, Mass.-based developer of total facet arthroplasty devices, according to a Globus Medical news release.

Globus Medical has acquired all of the assets of Facet Solutions for an undisclosed sum. The leading product in the Facet Solutions portfolio is ACADIA, an unconstrained pedicle screw-based total facet replacement system.

ACADIA is currently under phase III IDE studies for symptomatic spinal stenosis. David Paul, chairman and CEO of Globus, said in the release that the acquisition will allow Globus to address an array of clinical indications and treatment scenarios.
